Welcome, Saint Laurent Sac de Jour

I have already given you a sneak-peek (and if you follow me on Instagram you will have seen it already): there is a new bag in my life.

Here's the backstory: My Proenza Schouler PS1 has been my favourite everyday bag for years and – as much as I still love it (a lot!) – I felt I needed a more sophisticated, a little more "grown up" bag beside it. So I thought about it and thought about it and after a while I felt very good about Saint Laurent's Sac de jour. I just wasn't entirely sure about the gold hardware (I love to mix metals but I am more of a silver girl) - so I hesitated.
Then, Saint Laurent made a new version of the Sac de jour, in grained leather – and with silver hardware. And I knew I had found my bag. Eventually, I went for the medium size because it comes with a shoulder strap, and I know that I need to be able to throw my bag over my shoulder when I use it everyday (even a sophisticated tote bag).

I found mine via Farfetch. It arrived only two days after I had placed my order, and so far I am very happy with it. I must admit, it is a bit of a change that I cannot just cram my supermarket shopping in my handbag (yes, I tend to do that when I stop by the supermarket after work and I did not think of bringing a canvas bag. Shame on me). The compartments of le Sac de jour are quite narrow and limited – big enough for my wallet, cosmetic bag, organiser, phone, keys and chewing gum, but now big enough to put an apple or yoghurt in (a smoothie bottle, however, works). But maybe it's better that way.
